Values
Connection - We believe human connection is the center of all communication. During a time where face-to-face interaction is scarce, we seek to embrace our circumstances by developing alternate yet effective means of connection. Whether it be from student to tutor, tutor to parent, or student to college admissions counselor, cultivating connection is central to our work.
Honesty - To be honest and genuine is the most effective way to connect with another human being. It is also something that cannot be duplicated. You or your student has a voice and perspective that is entirely specific to you. That makes it rare. That makes it important. And that makes it precisely what should be showcased in your writing.
Creativity - While college essay prompts can feel repetitive, that does not mean your writing should. Thinking outside the box, and telling stories you actually want to tell will make the essay writing process SO MUCH EASIER. That is the mindset we go into every meeting with. Not only "how can we make this stand-out?" but, "how can we make this engaging, fun, and one-of-a-kind?"
We pride ourselves on sparking "ah-ha!" moments, when writing goes from being a chore to being a means of self-expression. But these moments can only happen in an environment when one can feel both safe and creative. Which is exactly what we cultivate here.
Truthfully what sets the College App Coach apart is that we are not a massive corporation. We are simply a group of local experts who believe in the power of connection, empowerment, and a good story.

Hi everyone! My name is Gabrielle Fox, and I am the head of the College App Coach.
I grew up in the greater Seattle area, went to Tesla STEM high school, and graduated from the University of Washington Bothell with a double major and a minor.
My entire life I have had a passion for writing, more specifically I have a passion for helping others discover the power of their voice through the written word. I have spent over a decade working with students as a mentor, tutor, and advocate.
But I was only able to discover this passion and empowerment through my education. Thus, I believe it is my place during this arduous time to help others overcome the academic, social, and emotional adversities the pandemic has placed in front of them. I was lucky enough to go to school in a pre-pandemic time. Thus, I believe it is imperative that students today have every opportunity to pursue their dreams and perhaps more importantly, their truest selves.
I have been fortunate enough to work for the UW Writing and Communication Center as a writing consultant. I have have worked with a bipartisan initiative to close the political gender gap called Leading Women of Tomorrow, as a content writer.
I have personally pursued a wide-array of academic, art, and political publications (as listed below). Finally, I have decided to go back to school to pursue a Master degree in order to continue my writing, research, and the promotion of equality as well as the excavation of silenced stories and voices.
